ABOUT US

Dusty's Haven was created out of the love for horses.  Since she was a child, Ann Green has always admired horses, from afar, but did not have the chance to learn about them, or become involved with them; this changed, the day when she and her husband realized that their youngest daughter, Ariel, had a unique gift with horses.  They began to listen to Ariel, as her riding ability came naturally.

Ariel was home schooled, and learned quickly.  She needed an after school activity; and for six months, without pay, she began caring for a horse, nearby.  This showed Ann, and her husband, Mark, that horses were not just a passing phase of their daughter's life.

The family began searching for a horse that would feel a connection with Ariel.  The horse, that Ariel had been caring for, was offered to her; and since a strong bond already existed, Ariel became the proud owner of Savannah Grace, an American Quarter Horse.

Realizing what Grace had done for Ariel, Ann wanted to help other children who did not have the opportunity that her daughter had.  Dusty's Haven was created for this reason.  Our horse club is available to those who continue to come and learn.  It's about helping children, raising self esteem along with leadership skills.

We started out by offering a Work to Ride program, to benefit children who might not have the chance to learn basic riding skills.  Pretty soon, Ann was teaching so many kids, that it was more timely to create Dusty's Haven Horse Club, to be able to teach all at the same time.  The Work to Ride program helped children learn work ethics, while also helping them to learn about their passion...horses.

For those with a competitive nature, each month, this club also offers the opportunity to enter in horse competitions, in a friendly atmosphere at Possum Snout Arena in Tallapoosa, GA.

Is this club for you?  The main requirement is a passion for horses and a willingness to learn.
